Sharks & Swimmers (Act III, Scene I)

Writer's picture: Shane R. WalkerShane R. Walker

A young neurochemist trips the beach with her partner,

Ingesting a compound, designed the week prior.

A minuscule amount was all that it took,

Kaleidoscopic prism, as water greets light.

A shark on the hunt, one mile from sight,

Barbed-wire jaws, and razor blade fins,

Accelerates towards the meat in the swim.

A pod of seals soak up the last of the sun,

Attempting to guard their numerous young.

The Shark cuts across like a bullet from a gun.

The circle of life when tragically not fun.
